NYC Recycling & Landfill Map
A map of official residential recycling rates by NYC community district, location of waste processing facilities, and landfill destinations, using data from 2015. For now the map lives here.
This is an old project but I like that it raised some hard-to-answer questions about where New York City trash ends up that I would like to continue to explore and illuminate. The original version of this map used custom mapbox tiles, but after a change in the mapbox API it now uses generic tiles.
